I’ve been talking about dying my hair bright orange for several months on my tumblr but now I’ve finally taken the next step and booked an appointment at a salon. These images represent the type of orange i’m going for, really bright and vibrant!

Ahhhh! I haven’t written a blog post in over a month!!! What have I been doing?

Oh yeah, I was in London for two weeks. That was fun. But for some reason I have no photographic evidence that I was there. I started to make a college of the places and people I visited but it was turning out pretty lame. So, instead, here’s a random technicolour photo of London in the 60s!

So what did I do while I was in London you ask? Well, mostly hang out with my extended family; my wonderful nan and oma and opa. I spent some time with friends, went out to a few clubs, saw the Lion King musical and shopped at Top Shop and Primark. Oh yeah, and there was that interview thing at a theatre design college, the whole reason I went to London in the first place. I haven’t heard back from them yet, I’m getting pretty anxious.

Since getting back I’ve been ultra busy. I remounted a play, we launched Lickety Split (get your copy here!), I sold my hand made clothing at a craft fair, remounted the play again and now I’m gearing up to sell at a week long vintage clothing fair! Even with all this going on I still made sure to find time to photograph my new designs and finally put the up in my etsy shop! I’m going to do a full blown post all about it later this week but for now here’s a sneak peak!

This thursday I’m leaving for London for two whole weeks! I’m going for an interview at a college and to visit family and friends. If I wasn’t so terrified of flying I would be super duper excited. For this weeks Favourite Etsy Items I though I would make it London themed. It actually turned out to be harder than I expected. I started out by hearting anything with a Union Jack on it but that was looking pretty lame. In the end I decided to make it a mod and punk themed grouping.

I’ve already started thinking about what I should bring for the trip. The weather in London is so unpredictable so I definitely need to bring some warmer clothes. For travelling, I’m thinking of wearing my leather jacket, skinny black jeans and ankle boots. I also want to bring some dresses and heels for nights out on the town. I probably won’t stick to a totally mod/punk themed wardrobe since I’m so into flowy florals but it’s a good starting point! I also need to think about what I should wear to the interview! I found this amazing late 60s three piece wool suit thrifting a few weeks back and was considering wearing that, but I think it may be too much. Maybe I’ll post photos of the different options and put it to a vote.

I’ve recently added some photos of costume and set designs that I have done for theatre on my flickr. I feel like I need proof that I’m busy with work to justify my infrequent posting and shop updates!

It seems like nautical is in every summer, which is fine with me because I love all thinks stripped, navy and adorned with anchors. So this week I was on the hunt for the best nautical inspired clothing and accessories Etsy has to offer and I think I found some real gems!
